Hello? Anyone home?

This must mean I spend too much time on the phone :)

Happy Easter!

This was our first year coloring eggs.  We had so much fun that Jeff went back to the grocery to get another 18 pack!  Miles scored on egg hunts this year.  His daycare teacher had one on Thursday and he came home with a bag of treat-filled eggs.  We decided to check out the LDS church breakfast and egg hunt on Saturday morning. No, we didn't convert! We get the invite taped to the door every year and this year we decided to head over.  They apparently don't mess around with egg hunting!  They had over 1,500 eggs out for about 30 kids. We also had an afternoon hunt when Grandma and Grandpa came over.  The only downside of all that action is the bowl of treats on the kitchen counter that I keep grazing from!
The artist in action!
Miles wearing the bunny mask.  I tried it on Iris but she was not a fan, and I figured I can't post too many crying Iris pictures on here or people might start to wonder about me!
 Fueled by jelly bean sugar!
So much love!

Chillin'

Miles is old enough this spring to go in the backyard and play by himself.  He piles up sticks (his swords for slaying dragons), harasses the cat, whacks down the new daffodils, plays in the sandbox, etc.  He is usually running around burning off lots of energy, so we were surprised to look out and see him just chillin' with Bella.  I love this shot!

What it's all about

I love this picture that Jeff took last night.  This is what's it all about!  Last week a friend of mine made the comment that I scare her when it comes to motherhood, and it really got me thinking.  I guess it's because I don't sugarcoat my experience as a mom.  I vent about the challenges and the messes and being tardy to work because of last minute poopy diapers and forgotten toys on toy day.  I grumble about less time for sleep and exercise and simple travel.  I tell my friends how tricky I think it is trying to find the balance between being a good mom, good wife, good employee and being good to myself.  So Sandy this picture is for you!  I really do have beautiful, amazing moments like this one that I wouldn't trade for anything in the world!

How cute are these pony tails?!  Her teacher, Stacy, gave her a little girl hair styling and it made her look so grown up!

Who the...?

Who is this mustached man holding my child?!
Jeff grows a beard every winter.  I grumble and groan and plead with him not to.  I prefer the clean shaven face.  Why bury those dimples?  Today he headed out for a haircut since the new job starts Monday.  He had them do a cut and shave the beard, but asked to leave a mustache just to freak me out.  It worked.  He's not allowed to share my bed until it's long gone, so I'm guessing it will be gone by tonight!

Spring in Utah

Spring in Utah is always a roller coaster, with one day in the seventies and the next snowy and cold.  I always remind myself that we get at least one big dump of snow on the blooming tulips.  That's what we are getting this weekend.  It was another morning of sledding with Miles at the school down the road.  Sledding always makes me think of my Dad.  He would get home from a long day at the mill, then drag all 5 kids to the sledding hill.  I think it's a challenge trying to outfit one child in winter play clothes, so I can't imagine the time and energy spent getting us all out the door.  To this day I love sledding and I still squeal every single time I jump on the sled and cruise down the hill.  Thanks Dad!

Sick baby girl

It's been a long week.  Sick Iris, travel to Moab, lots to do at work, stressing over my parents near homelessness, etc.  Fortunately Jeff is healing well.  He is already on the exercise bike and getting around better than we thought he would be at this point.  If I had a picture of the insane bruise on his knee I would post it just for fun!
There is nothing worse than wishing you can make a sick baby feel better, but realizing all you can do is give them ibuprofen and be patient.  Very patient.
Feeling a little better post bath!
The happy one!
Iris is in super babble mode these days.  It's complete jibberish that I love listening to!  In this one she is excited about the cat food box!
