Grrr

Maybe someday this shit will be funny (pun very much intended), but not today.  For the fourth morning in a row Iris has pooped in her pullup before we all wake up.  That is certainly not so awful, especially since she is only a month potty trained.  The awful part is that she tries to remove the pullup and clean the mess all by her 3 year old self.  The results this morning left Jeff and I speechless and deciding how in the world we even clean it up and then deciding if it was a project to be tackled before work or after.  We voted for after.
Pictures never do a scene like this justice, but I figured someday we might look back and chuckle.   And Jen, I promise to have this cleaned up before you come visit!
So gross.  Especially since there are about 30 mini piles scattered across her floor.
Gotta hand it to the girl for trying to clean it up herself, but...

Happy Valentines Day

Iris picked Star Wars cards for her class valentines.  She and Miles got to pick their own out at Target.  No homemade cards for this Mom.  Kudos to those with crafty skills who enjoy projects like that, but I do not fall into that category!  She steered clear of Hello Kitty, rainbows, unicorns, etc. and was set on these.  I think it's mostly because Miles is into Star Wars and she likes what he likes these days.
This was the first year Miles could sign his valentines, which is pretty cool, albeit very time consuming.  His pick was less surprising...Ninjago.

Snowy hike up Ferguson

We headed out this morning for some fresh air.  Our original plan was hiking the Little Cottonwood trail, but that proved too snowy for a fun stroll.  Instead we ended up at Ferguson Canyon and had a great little hike.  It had been years since I'd been up there and it used to be a staple for us, so it was fun to be cruising on that trail again with the kids. It was one of those parenting moments that feels so good...the family out hiking in the snow, smiling, singing goofy songs and just enjoying the morning.

O February

There hasn't been too much excitement around these parts.  Just the usual day to day, mostly hunkering down inside and getting cranky about the nasty inversion that never seems to end this time of year.  I'm happy it's Friday night and we are cruising into a weekend with no plans...the best kind when Monday through Friday is so busy.
